We stand together for equality and inclusivity! We believe that it's important for YOU to stand strong for who YOU are. This collection is created in celebration with our rainbow friends, so we had a chat with Andy Kelly on what Pride means to him, and what advice he would give young rainbow people who are afraid of expressing themselves.
Hey Andy, we've noticed you dress fabulously, since when did you start experimenting with the way you dress?
Thanks, when I was a child I didn't have many toys but I did have a pink satin flat bed sheet that I would spend hours turning into different gowns for myself & the mop in the backyard - so I guess it started then…
What does Pride mean to you?
Not apologising for who I am.
What’s one message you have for young rainbow people out there who are afraid to express themselves?
Look, its hard out there. I grew up in an armpit regional town you gotta do what you gotta do. Make a Plan , find your people, get out and when you’re ready live your damn life Judy. There is no easy road to self-acceptance but just because you’re “I Have Nothing” right now doesn’t mean that you can’t be “Queen of the night” one day, and if you don’t get that reference you need to do some Gay homework!
What advice would you give your younger self?
You’re not that important, people won’t care half as much as you think they will, be good to yourself and for the love of baby Jesus stop bleaching your hair you look ridiculous….
How do you like to style your Pride Heritage High Volleys?
With the Volleys Tran Flag socks – duh
Wear It With Pride
We are dedicated to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community with our Wear It With Pride collection. We hope that it inspired everyone to express their style of Pride however she/they/he sees fit. For every pair of sneakers and tee sold we will be donating $5 to our friends at Wear It Purple charity to support young rainbow people. View the new Pride collection here
